Using the Cries of London, this was inspired by a concert given by COMA Singers. There are so many great lines in the Cries of London, a text that just has to be sung. My favourite is "A new love song, only ha'pence a piece" which is the climax of this piece, sung by improvising solos. The paired ostinato drives through the piece, binding the disparate cries together. 3' - 6' depending on the conductor. More at www.dominicmcgonigal.com
