Reproaches (SSA)

For Choir a cappella (1992), 4:10 mins.
Voicing: SSA
A setting of the Reproaches for SSA, normally sung on Good Friday at the Veneration of the Cross. This is a simple, yet beautiful setting, in English. The antiphons 'My people what have I done to you?' and 'Holy is God' are alternated with the psalm verses, 'I led you out of Egypt...but you led your Saviour to the cross.' It is mostly in two parts, SA or SS. The antiphon 'Holy is God' is set in three parts for SSA or SSS. It lasts between 4' and 9', depending on how many verses you do.
Usage: Liturgy

Audio clip: Sibelius playback recording
